Community Gathering for Bell Bowl Prairie
After Pollinator Palooza, we will be hosting an open gathering for the Bell Bowl community. This will be a space to share our collective grief over the destruction of several acres of prairie while honoring the ongoing fight to protect the remaining 6 acres.
Robbie Telfer will be leading a short poetry workshop, and we will conclude with a leisurely guided hike.
Press Conference and Rally for Bell Bowl Prairie
Meet at the corner of S. Church St. and Elm St. for an emergency rally and press conference to support Bell Bowl Prairie! Hear updates about NLI’s emergency motion for a stay on construction until the lawsuit can be reviewed.
After the rally, some advocates will be heading to Cessna Drive for a ceremony and vigil honoring the prairie beginning at sunset Wednesday and going through dawn on Thursday.
Airport Board Meeting
Keep pressure on the Airport Authority to do the right thing! Destroying the prairie is unnecessary and wrong, and they still have time to change their design plans! Cycle on 2nd for Bell Bowl Prairie
The fourth-annual Cycle on 2nd community bicycle ride will be held Sunday September 11, 2022.
Join Sinnissippi Audubon to ride for Bell Bowl Prairie! Wear your Bell Bowl Prairie tees, dress as a bee, decorate your bike, etc.
From 8-10 a.m. the southbound lanes of North 2nd Street from the Auburn interchange to State Street will be closed to traffic and open to people on bikes! At 10 a.m. the streets will re-open to cars.
UPDATE: Bell Bowl Prairie riders will meet at the YMCA parking lot (alongside Madison St.) at 7:30am to assemble for the ride, which begins at 8am. A small Save Bell Bowl Prairie sign will be provided to attach to your handlebars, if you would like one.
There is no cost to participate, and parking is free.
